Discussion-Based Assessments (DBAs)
How Our Instructors Support Students Through DBAs
At Sevenstar, we use DBAs to keep students engaged, on track in their course, and actively involved in their learning. These one-on-one conversations give students the opportunity to ask questions, deepen their understanding, and stay motivated. DBAs also allow our instructors to get to know each student personally, providing tailored guidance that meets their unique learning needs. Beyond academics, DBAs help students develop strong communication skills—learning to express their thoughts clearly and confidently, which prepares them for success in school and life. Most importantly, DBAs provide an opportunity for the instructor to ensure that students are mastering the material and truly understanding what they’ve learned. They also create space for mentorship, as instructors encourage students in their walk with Christ and support their spiritual growth alongside their academic progress.
