MS Exploring Music
Grades: 6, 7, 8
Couse description
What comes to mind when you hear the word music? Do you think about your favorite band or artist? Or do you think about instruments and scales and chords? The word means something different to everyone, which is why this music course has a little bit of something for everyone! In MS Exploring Music, students learn about how we hear music; how music affects our lives; important elements of music, such as rhythm, pitch, and harmony; different musical genres; singing and the voice; various instruments; music composition; and the history and culture of music over the years. Along the way, students also learn about the role of music in the Bible and in Christianity, the benefits of music in the Christian life, and how to think of music and musical performance from a distinctly Christian point of view.
