Couse description
Are you always the first to know what’s going on and excited to share the latest news? Do you have a passion for making sure the truth gets out and for making sure you know the real facts behind the story? If so, Journalism is the course for you! Explore the history of journalism and see how social media and the digital world have changed the way news media operates. Learn about the code of ethics journalists should follow and how this stacks up against God’s standards for truth and integrity. Learn how to write a lead that grabs your readers’ attention and how to use pictures and images to help tell your story. Discover the roles of sources and research in telling your story—and how to filter those through God’s truth. Students also learn about the numerous roles involved in the publication process.

In addition to a computer with an Internet connection, most courses require speakers (or headphones); a digital camera or scanner to take photos of completed work; a printer; common household items; access to research materials; and productivity software for word processing, presentations, etc.
