Philosophy of Education
At Sevenstar, we believe that quality education must engage the whole child (mind, body, and spirit) as an image bearer of God. Our accredited online Christian school seeks to fully prepare students in grades K-12 for college, career, and citizenship by comprehensively addressing their needs through four areas of development: academic, spiritual, social, and personal.
“Simply put, the vision of Christian education is to educate and raise up a generation of leaders who will bring glory to God.”
We believe that all members of Sevenstar’s team are involved in fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). We diligently hire administrative staff members and contract with subject-certified instructors who truly care about the lives of our students and strive to develop Christlike relationships with them to spread the gospel to all nations of the world. As you facilitate the courses and as administrative staff work with schools and families, we encourage everyone to be intentional about helping students grow academically and spiritually.
“As the head of school, I feel personally responsible for ensuring that our school is successfully educating and preparing students for a world that doesn’t yet exist. That’s a monumental task—one that is only achieved with appropriate rigor and obedience to the excellence God requires of us.”
We believe that to glorify God, our courses must be at the highest levels of rigor and use the best of what we know about how students learn online. Sevenstar has carefully integrated course content with biblical applications and discussion activities. This unique approach to online education provides each student with the opportunity to understand his or her courses from a biblical worldview.
With academic excellence a priority, the integration of faith and Scripture is implemented in every area of our courses to add value to the formation of the whole student in order to strengthen the student’s Christian faith. The Bible courses are not intended to reinforce a denominational doctrine; rather, they let the Bible speak for itself.
“God didn’t create just a body, or a mind, or a spirit, but rather the entire person. This whole person will have to stand accountable before God in the next life, function in this life as a Christian, and serve as a citizen of both this nation and a new globalizing world.”
Quotes throughout are excerpts from our head of school’s personal philosophy of Christian education entitled, “Why Christian Education?”
