Grades: 2
Couse description
Elementary Mathematics Grade 2 builds skills in critical thinking, teaching students to use math to better understand the world God created. Engaging videos and slideshows offer rhymes, chants, songs, audio narration, and images to reinforce biblical and mathematical principles. This course covers addition and subtraction for two- and three-digit numbers, measurement of shapes in imperial and metric measurements, and the creation and reading of graphs. Students learn to solve basic word problems involving currency, time, and 2D and 3D shapes. Through a series of Bible readings and slideshows, students also learn about the Ten Commandments, about studying the Bible, about the wonder of God’s creation and our role as stewards, about the importance of trusting God for all our needs, about the Christian view of history, and about the importance of living with integrity and wisdom. Students are offered an abundance of hands-on practice opportunities as well as digital interactives that support mathematical proficiency.
