Be captivated by the wonders and beauty of the third planet from our Sun, Earth. Be amazed by what awaits your discovery within our solar system and beyond. It is your turn to explore the universe and discover the magnificent design of our marvelous Creator.
Earth and Space Science is a laboratory course focusing on the study of space, geologic structures and forces, the waters on our planet, and the atmospheric forces that shape our world as it is sustained by God. Through experimentation and investigation, students explore the earth cycles including the geosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, atmosphere, and the carbon cycle. Students also learn about scientific inquiry, geologic time, space exploration, the solar system, and the universe. In Earth and Space Science, students use web 2.0 tools, interactive experiences, higher-order thinking, collaborative projects, and real-world application through labs and a variety of assessments as they discover how to rejoice in the wonders of God and bring glory to Him. Upon completion of the course, students will have a clear understanding of the dynamic forces at work in the world around them, becoming better caretakers of our planet, Earth.

Biblical Integration Information:
Science is the orderly study of God’s creation. God’s true nature is partially revealed through the orderly, discoverable, and purposeful scientific laws He established to govern His Creation. Recognizing our limitations and sinful tendencies to worship the creation rather than the Creator, we should use science to encourage and promote life, health, community, and godliness as we seek to take our role in having dominion over the natural world. We can seek to bring glory to God by using scientific reasoning and critical thinking to understand God’s world, man’s role in it, and how to properly relate with our Creator and fellow man. As we pursue scientific truths through the lens of the Word of God, we will be led into a deeper understanding of our Creator and appreciation of His provision and wisdom.
It is our goal to equip our students with a clear understanding of the variety of theories of origins they will encounter as they engage their culture. In order to highlight the variety of perspectives, whenever appropriate we present young-earth Creationism (a literal Genesis account) in contrast to atheistic evolution highlighting the similarities and contrasts. We attempt to present this as a continuum also allowing for varying degrees of Evolutionary Creationism (old-earth Creationism). We encourage the students to explore the evidence to determine their view of origins as they study God’s word along with their parents’ guidance and church teachings.
